Brittany Murphy was born Brittany Anne Bertolotti on November 10, 1977 and born in Atlanta, Georgia. She is an American actress and recording artist.
She is perhaps best known for her roles in many Hollywood films such as Clueless, Girl, Interrupted, 8 Mile, Sin City, The Dead Girl, and many more, which have all been box office and critical successes.
Murphy landed her first job in Hollywood when she was fourteen, starring as Brenda Drexell in the television series Drexell's Class.
Murphy has since starred in many successful films, including Clueless, Girl Interrupted, Don't Say a Word and 8 Mile.


Brittany 's weight loss and transformation over the years have caused speculation of an eating disorder or plastic surgery, both of which she has always denied.
In 2006, Brittany Murphy was voted 36th in FHM's 100 Sexiest Women List, 29th in Celebrity Sleuths 25 Sexiest List and in May of the same year, Maxim magazine named Murphy number 49 on its annual Hot 100 List.
